Photographer’s Forum Finalist
Earlier in the spring, while reading a few ebooks I heard about Photographer’s Forum. I went out to their website and by chance saw a call for artists for the 2012 Best of Photography contest sponsored by Sigma. I thought it over, went through some images and finally decided to submit. You were allowed to submit as many photo’s as you wanted. However, I choose to submit 2. I’ve been honing my skills since 2008. I figured this was a good measuring stick for me. I’ve never entered a contest before. I sat down one saturday morning, submitted my two chosen photo’s and forgot about the contest. It was juried, but not by the public.
Fast forward 3 months, there was a letter in my mail box. I didn’t recognize the sender. Since I had completely forgotten I even entered anything at all. I opened up the envelope, realizing that as I read on, telling me that I was chosen as a finalist for the 2012 Best of Photography! I couldn’t believe it! Because my photo was chosen as a finalist (all the finalist photo’s were to be judged for final awards) my photo is guaranteed to be published in Serbin’s hardcover Best of Photography 2012. What an honor!
The contest has been judged. Even though my photo did not place. I am immensely humbled and honored. The selection has given me some confidence that I am doing something right. I want to given a huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of the honorable mentions and the first through fourth place photograph’s. I’ve looked through the winner’s gallery and there are some beautiful photo’s that were submitted. I’m honored just to be among them.
Please check out the winner’s gallery for yourself. I’m on page 57 of the finalist gallery. http://pfmagazine.com/wp-content/plugins/p-gallery/index.php?level=collection&id=8
The image I submitted is below.
