Quebec Run is one of those places that just doesn’t disappoint. It was a beautiful day in SouthWest Pennsylvania. One of those rare sunny days. Although I’d usually pass on photographing in these conditions. I was really excited for the day’s hike. I was going to Quebec Run, yet again! One of my favorite places in the Laurel Highlands (wait don’t I always say that?) Quebec run is filled with lush ferns, Mountain Laurel and mixed hardwoods and pines. Along the creek bed are Hemlocks and Mountain Laurel. The place always reminds me of something prehistoric. Especially in the summer! Since my first hike here last year I’ve come back again and again. It’s a place that I’ve done some serious thinking. Find a remote area against the stream and sit for hours. This is absolutely the place to do that.
Sometimes I forget to open my eyes. How can that be, I’m a photographer, but it’s true. I overlook everything. Don’t stop to give chances and just keep on pushing through. The forest always gave me counsels that I didn’t expect. Recently, it told me to stop and listen. For I’d be rewarded. Yeah right, I thought. But it’s true.
