The Rooms at Phipps, Pt. 2: Sunken Garden Room

Today’s post is to highlight another room at Phipps Conservatory. The Sunken Garden Room features a stream in the middle. Surrounded by handing baskets and fountains. This room is used for the seasonal flower shows held at Phipps. Each show will showcase the architecture and the floral designs show off the beautiful sunken gardens of the room. There is nothing like walking through this room. The blast of color from the hanging pots of flowers, on really sunny days, the light streams through the glass above. The delightfully relaxing sound of trickling water from the stream. You really can lose yourself here. Of course, this isn’t uncommon for any room in Phipps. However, the Sunken Garden room is definitely the most colorful of all the rooms in Phipps, save for the Orchid room. When I visited earlier in January of this year, the Sunken Garden Room was set up for the Orchid Show, 2013. It was wonderful having the entire room to myself, that doesn’t happen often. I was free to roam and enjoy the beautiful orchids.
