Dense fog on LHHT

Cathedral of Learning Meetup

Last week the one of the photographer groups from meetup.com got together to shoot architectural details at the Cathedral of Learning. The gothic style building was dreamed up by architect Henry Hornbostel. It stands at 535ft, and is the second tallest educational structure today. The pride and joy of the cathedral is it’s multi-use commons room spanning a height of 52ft, and the Nationality Rooms, of which there are 27.

My main focus on this night was the Commons Room. This is the third time i’ve shot here, it is a challenging place to shoot. The high ceilings, mixed lighting and tons of perspectives to be had. This all makes a photographer go nuts. It’s hard to pin point just one area to capture. However, I think I was able to do just that. I wanted to show the vastness of the Commons Room, and still maintain some of the gothic architecture seen throughout.
