I’ve spend much of my life outdoors. The outdoors is really a magical place. Recently, I’ve realized that I haven’t spent much time exploring as I used to. The City of Pittsburgh has four major parks. No they aren’t on a grand scale of what you would find in oh say Colorado, Minnesota, or even Virginia. But they do offer a peaceful solitude, great views, relaxing streams, and access to wild life. Highland Park is no exception. A sprawling park with history tying it to the Negleys. I haven’t spent a lot of time here even though I live close. So the other night I made my way over. I was able to find a few hiking trails, and caught sunset.
This also gave me an idea i’ve been swirling in my head. A project called Pittsburgh Parks. Yes, I am familiar with one park because I’ve spent so much time there, but have neglected the others. So, I will be exploring the other three with camera in hand. The goal is to capture the beauty and nuances of each park. I am looking forward to this. It will be a “living” project so to speak.
