Bye Bye 2013

Welcome 2014 !  So long 2013, it was fun! 2013 was a good year. I learned a ton about myself and my photography. First of all, I want to say thanks to all of you who stop by and follow my blog. Thanks for all the comments via Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. I look forward to seeing what you all bring to the photography table in 2014! Second, on a personal level, I learned much about myself and how to get through the curveballs that life throws. No, i’m not always successful at it. But I have an amazing circle of people to give me those little reminders I need. For that, I can’t be thankful enough. Those same people always provide the inspiration I need to do what I do to make pictures. They tell me to chase my passion. They encourage me to do new things. One amazing person in particular supports me to the fullest, and I couldn’t do what I do if it wasn’t for her.

On that note, photography wise, it was a good year. I explored a lot in photography this past year and met and received instruction from many great photographers that encouraged me to go full steam ahead! From landscape and nature photography to finding my footing to include more people in my photos. I traveled many miles this year from west coast to Mt. Rainier and Las Vegas, to east coast beaches in Delaware and Maryland to in between to Detroit. I was able to expand what I learned from shooting in Mt. Rainier to shooting landscapes in Pennsylvania. I found that it’s not so scary to take someone’s portrait and I found the thrill of race car photography. Really I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

So for 2014 I get a clean slate. I’m looking forward to more instruction to help me creatively include more elements in my photos. I’m looking forward to more travel and seeing new places. I want to make more photographs in 2014. Try more new things take some risks. I want to explore more portrait and still life. I’m looking forward to 2014.

Happy New Year!
