We woke up to rain. It started raining over night and barely let up. Long time readers know this is my favorite weather! I was unprepared and cold for this rain encounter though. Even still after a nice hearty breakfast and warm coffee we decided to explore the Bald Eagle State Park and Forest area. What an absolutely beautiful area! I believe the State College area is known to beautiful and this didn’t disappoint. We studied our map over breakfast and decided on an overlook tour. Bell’s Majestic was the first overlook we hit (and the only, since we got stopped by a crazy steep and rocky road!). It was raining just a little, but enough that I had to grab a small pink umbrella to shield the camera with. The view over the rolling hills with fog wisping around was breathtaking. The valley below is Penn’s Valley bordered by the Appalachian Mountain range. I’m absolutely enthralled with this area and cannot wait to go back!
